KidsView Writing Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in writing for KidsView! We always appreciate unsolicited manuscripts. We’ve prepared a few guidelines for authors to follow when submitting a potential story.

What We Look For

We firmly believe that children need positive, encouraging reading material and activities that will:

• Introduce them to Jesus as their Creator and Redeemer,

• Help them recognize their intrinsic value,

• Disciple them in their relationship with Jesus,

• Encourage them to serve others, either at home or abroad,

• Give them a solid, biblical foundation on which to build their Adventist identity.

Features should have a spiritual lesson, be non-fiction, and be an original manuscript, not borrowed from someone else.

Age-Appropriate Material

Our magazine is geared towards grades 3-6 (ages 8-12), so any submissions should be age appropriate with language and illustrations fitting the audience. We love stories that feature scenarios children might experience daily, whether at school, with siblings, or spending time with friends. An excellent story will demonstrate positive ways of engaging with others, making good choices, being kind when others are not or something similar. We want to encourage our young readers to do what is right, not focus on poor behavior.
